How We Pray

Prayer is central to everything we do at St James. Here are some of the ways in which we meet together to pray:

Intercessions for the church, the world and our community during our public worship.

Prayer Days -these are held three times a year. Our next Day of Prayer is scheduled for 18th June 2011, 10am—3pm in the Church Centre.

Weekly Prayer Meeting every Tuesday 8.15am —9am in the prayer corner.

Prayer Ministry -we have a special prayer ministry team who are available to prayer with you after each service in the prayer corner at the back of church.

A Prayer of St. Chrysostom

Almighty God, you have given us grace
at this time with one accord to make
our common supplication to you;
and you have promised through your
well-beloved Son
that when two or three are
gathered together in his Name
you will be in the midst of them:
Fulfill now, O Lord, our desires and petitions
as may be best for us;
granting us in this world knowledge of your truth,
and in the age to come life everlasting.

Amen.

John Chrystostom (c.309-407 AD)
