About Us
We are an Anglican Church within the Diocese of Southwark and the Deanery of Tooting, serving a mainly residential parish on the south side of Tooting Bec Common. At St. James we don’t think of the church as an institution or as a club, but more as a family. Like every family, we are a mixture of all sorts. Like any family, we have our weaknesses as well as our strengths but together we all want to grow in understanding what it means to know God as our Father. We’d love you to join us in this adventure!
At the heart of our church life is a desire to worship God, to grow in our knowledge and experience of him and to serve him in the community. In particular, we want to help others to experience some of the meaning and purpose in life that we have found. Our main service is on Sunday mornings at 10.30am. You will find a warm welcome there.
