Messy Sunday

Unfortunately our services are currently suspended due to coronavirus social distancing measures. However, Sunday Services are being recorded and relayed from our homepage and Facebook page during this time, so please do tune in and join us.

Messy Sunday is an informal, lively and interactive service for all ages which takes place on the first Sunday of most months. All are welcome to join in any of the activities.

We start with refreshments and after a short time of worship and an introduction to the theme, we break into different 'zones' for the main part of the service. A variety of activities are on offer for all ages, and parents are encouraged to accompany their children in activities suitable for the whole family. Zones range from being interactive and messy to reflective and thought-provoking. All are designed to help us to think about the theme more carefully and learn more about God while having fun.

Recent zones have included arts and crafts; messy play; a drama workshop; gardening; a Bible study; a discussion topic and a reflective prayer activity. When zone time is over we re-join the rest of the church to share what we have been doing and conclude our theme. We also celebrate the birthdays of those born that month!

Messy Sunday is often followed by a soup lunch and all are welcome to stay to enjoy it.

When a first Sunday is not a Messy Sunday, an all-age, child-friendly ‘Worship Together’ service takes place instead. Worship Together services often contain action songs, drama, video clips, interactive prayer or other activities particularly enjoyed by children.
