Time to Think and Pray

Questions

  • Why was Saul hurting people who believed in Jesus?

  • What did God want Saul to do instead?

  • Who appeared to Saul as he travelled along?

  • What happened to Saul’s eyes?

  • What did God send Ananias to do for Saul?

  • After he met Jesus, Saul changed completely. What did he spend his time doing?

  • What was Saul’s new name?

Saul was travelling everywhere hurting Jesus' followers because he thought they were wrong. He didn’t believe that Jesus had risen from the dead and he didn’t know that Jesus is alive today! But he soon found out how wrong he was when Jesus appeared to him on the road!

Even though Saul did such bad things, God still loved him and had a plan for his life. God wanted Saul to work for him and to tell everyone the good news that Jesus died for them.

After he met Jesus, Saul was blind for 3 days. He felt so bad about all the wrong things he had done. But God sent Ananias to pray for him and help him. When Ananias prayed, Saul’s sight came back and he changed completely. He even changed his name to Paul! He became a follower of Jesus and spent his whole life telling people how they could be forgiven and live with God forever in heaven by believing in Jesus.

When we decide to believe and follow Jesus, we change too! God sends his Holy Spirit to live in our hearts to help us to want to do things that please God. We gradually change to become people who love others and are kind to them, and who tell people about Jesus just like Paul did.

Prayer: Dear Lord, Thank you that when we love and follow you we become a new person just like Paul did. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me to please you by loving others, being kind to them and telling them the good news about Jesus. Amen
